When a storm is coming, all other birds seek shelter. The eagle alone avoids the storm by flying above it. So, in the storms of life may your heart be like an eagle’s and soar above.” – Author Unknown

Wait for a Rainbow

Encouraging you to wait for a rainbow on near a river.

My surgeon says I must simply wait–wait for a rainbow.

On January 19, 2018, part of my right foot was amputated just as part of my left foot was in June of last year.  My left foot healed quickly with no problems and my right foot was doing the same thing until I encountered a setback.  I accidentally stepped into a hole with my right foot in February, about a month after the surgery.   Since then it has given me bouts of pain, sometimes days and weeks of pain.

Today my husband drove me to my surgeon’s office, two hours south of us.  The doctor examined my foot and found no structural issues, infection, or any other issues with my right foot.  He said that I am now experiencing normal recovery from amputation surgery instead of the fast-track recovery that occurred in last summer with my left foot.

Now I am waiting for the rainbow that normally occurs between three and six months after amputation surgery, the wonderful day when I will be completely pain free again.

Are you familiar with the story of Noah and the Ark in the book of Genesis?  Noah had to wait a long time for his rainbow, too.  He built an ark to protect his family and two of each kind of animal from the great flood.  It had never rained before, and God was using the rain and the flood to destroy all of the sinners on earth.  So Noah built his ark and filled it with his family and two of every kind of animal (one male and one female).  Then they all spent a long time, 40 days and 40 nights, in the ark.  When the rain finally stopped, the first rainbow appeared.

When you have troubles in your life, remember this.   Your troubles are always temporary. After every storm, there is a rainbow—no matter how long it takes to show up.  So please wait for your rainbow and do not become discouraged while waiting.
