Stress of Life…

Encouragement to cope with the stress and anxiety of life on near a river.

Would you like to know what the simplest way to cope with the stress of life is?

Did you know the suicide rate has gone up 30 percent since 1999?

Anthony Bourdain and Kate Spade both hung themselves this week. Kate hung herself because of an impending divorce, and Anthony Bourdain did the same thing for unknown reasons.

People just cannot handle the stress of life.

According to Dr. Bonnie McClean, we have many stressors in our lives today.  We know we are affected adversely by pollution from air, water, and electromagnetic field’s (EM’s), but we do not understand how toxic these things are to our stress levels. Also, we are adversely affected by other internal and external stressors.

As long as 180 years ago, Henry David Thoreau prescribed a cure for the stress of life, spending time in nature. Now there is evidence supporting his “eco-therapy”.

In Japan in 1982, the forestry ministry promoted nature appreciation in its national health program. From 2004 to 2012, the Japanese government spent about $4 million dollars studying the effects of Japan’s forest bathing program.

Japan’s forest bathing research has proven that forest bathing causes lower rates of cortisol, a lower pulse, and lower blood pressure. People who forest bathe feel more rested and less stressed afterward. Additionally, it reduces hostility and depression and increases positive energy levels.

Plants and trees produce a substance called phytoncide to protect themselves from germs and insects, and this substance protects our bodies too.  This substance helps our bodies deal with every type immune system problem, including cancer cells.

Life is hard and stressful.  Perhaps we all need to spend more time in nature. We would all feel better and be healthier.

Don’t let the stress of life get you down!  Spend time in nature instead.
