A WARNING TO EVERYONE WHO USES FACEBOOK

Encouragement to heed this facebook warning on near a river.

An important warning to all facebook users!

Warning: Don’t let a Facebook hacking affect your day!

On May 29, 2017,  I wrote an article for www.nearariver.com. Then as usual I posted it on Facebook to let the public know I had written it.

As I was on Facebook, a message popped up.  It wanted me to put in my security code.  That is fine.  But the only problem was that the security code was being sent to a phone number that I do not have access to.  I have only used one phone number with my personal Facebook account.  My account had been hacked.

I struggled with to recover my Facebook account so I can continue to encourage others with my articles.  Then around 1 am, I gave up and went to bed.  The next morning, I found the Facebook support phone number on Facebook.  It was 844-873-0056.

I called this number and Daniel, the first tech I spoke with, told me that there will be no charge if there are no issues with my computer.  If the only work required is to recover and restore my Facebook page, there will be no charge.  I was thus happy about this.

A few hours later, I got a phone call from Paul at Global Microsoft Support, 413-251-3233 who told me he works with Facebook. He wanted to take remote of my computer and try to fix the issue.  I gave him remote access of my computer after a thorough questioning resulting in satisfying answers.

Paul’s supervisor Michael got involved when he did not finish the work he was supposed to finish.  Besides, Michael told me that he must have payment right away to finish the job.  I then questioned him to make certain he was Microsoft certified and from Facebook and he passed my questioning.

I had gotten a Walmart gift card for $150 to pay Michael as a lack of trust issue. Thus, Michael took the gift card number to process payment.  After 30 minutes, he said he could not process the card and I later found out that he had used the card to purchase an iPad online.

It took me about 9 days to regain access to my Facebook account!

Here are two warnings about using Facebook…
  • Prevent this from happening to you by securing your social media account with two-factor authentication!  Go to the down arrow at the upper right corner of your Facebook page, click on security, then on “two-factor authentication”. If you set up this authentication today, you can help prevent your Facebook account from being hacked!
  • Jayden K. Smith is a hacker.  Do not accept him as a Facebook or twitter friend friend!  IF ANY ONE OF YOU ACCEPTS HIS FRIEND REQUEST, ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS WILL ALSO BE HACKED.

Do not allow social media hacking to disrupt your life! Heed this warning.
