Wild dreams don”t come true, you say? By the time you finish reading this post,
you might just change your mind.
I sit in little rooms all day and imagine wild dreams, with the freedom of starving, of course. And in these rooms, I’m always one thought from a totally different life.
In the words of David Foster Wallace,
I seek to comfort the disturbed
and disturb the comfortable.
From these rooms in which I spend my time, I murder others and will probably get paid for doing so.
When I dream, I run everywhere but go nowhere.
As Robert Frost did, I also find two roads diverged in the woods, take the one less traveled by and that makes all the difference.
Why does taking this road make all the difference? I follow Ernest Hemmingway’s instruction to write one true sentence, the truest sentence I know.
As a young child, I stared into space in school, not thinking of goofing off after school. Instead, I dreamt of writing a book with ideas that will help others succeed in life. In 2017, my first book Near a River was published. This book encouraged children to be successful.
Since then, I have spent my days outlining and writing a novel that will enable my fellow adult earth travelers to understand that their difficulties don’t determine where they end up in life. Three weeks ago, I completed this novel, Cloud People. It deals with many challenges in our lives today—teen pregnancy, sexual and physical abuse, PTSD and veterans, drug abuse, and others. And it also explains how hope and love help a child with a very traumatic life overcome all of the horrors in her life.
At times the emotional issues I wrote about caused me to struggle as I typed the words on my computer screen, but I also had a great deal of fun writing my captivating novel. After all, I killed people who have made others very angry in this work.
Now it is in the editing phase of book production. Hopefully, soon you will see it on shelves of book stores around you.
My wild dream was to become a writer.
I have persisted to make my dreams come true.
