When a storm is coming, all other birds seek shelter. The eagle alone avoids the storm by flying above it. So, in the storms of life may your heart be like an eagle’s and soar above.” – Author Unknown

Having a Bad Day?

Encouraging you to turn around a bad day on near a river.

Five healthy and inexpensive ways to cope with stress on a bad day!

Are you having a bad day?  Please do not let it drag you down!

Last Friday, I had a really bad day.  Ken Dunn (affiliated with Rebel Press and owns Next Century Publishing and GoRead.com) owes me money.  Instead of paying me, he threatened both my new publishing company and me with a lawsuit.  Although I doubt that it will ever happen, this threat did stress me out .

I have gotten severe hemiplegic migraines in the past, triggered by stress. They have often landed me in the hospital. But this time the stress did even give me a basic headache!

How did I handle my stressful day?  I took no medications to cope and used proven natural methods to cope instead.

Spending intimate time with my husband always helps me cope with anxiety.

  • Lavender

Lavender relaxes and calms my body and helps me sleep.  I put a lavender balm on my hands and on the tip of my nose before lying down.

I meditate by breathing deeply.  I breathe deeply and rhythmically until I feel calm and relaxed.

Right before I fall asleep, I visualize a better day.  I visualize how tomorrow would be.  Then I take a nap and have peaceful dreams.

I always do my best to not allow my stress affect my health.  Therefore, I do not drink alcohol or consume any drugs, prescription or otherwise, to cope.  I prefer to cope in natural and proven ways.  Click on the hyperlinks above and read the articles for a deeper understanding of these coping methods.

Parents, please role model healthy stress management. Your children will copy your behavior as they get older. If your kids cope with stress in healthy ways, you will feel much less stress!
