When a storm is coming, all other birds seek shelter. The eagle alone avoids the storm by flying above it. So, in the storms of life may your heart be like an eagle’s and soar above.” – Author Unknown

Coronavirus Fallout

From every major event there is fallout afterward, and coronavirus is no exception.

President Trump is doing everything he can to reduce the impact of the horrible coronavirus, so the White House announced today that Americans need to stay home as much as possible until the end of April.

Thirty more days of self-quarantine may sound like forever, but it will pass. Unless we handle our activities during this time with great care, there’s likely to be fallout.

Drug Abuse

Some people turn to drugs when they have nothing else to do, or when they have no job.  We’re all at home with our normal lives on hold, so we need to manage our relationships and support others to the best of our abilities.

Depression and Suicide

Human beings need each other.  We lift our spirits by spending time together. Touching each other helps us prevent and cope with depression.

Since social distancing prevents normal socialization, there will most likely be a tremendous increase in the number of people suffering from depression. There may also be more suicides.

Damage to Relationships

When we feel upset or down, we sometime say things we wouldn’t have said otherwise. We can’t take back our words once we share them, so our words can damage relationships.

I am a very tolerant person, but two people have said something to me that caused me to promise myself to never help them again—with anything. They said that they are happy that our country suffers from the coronavirus because of the economic stimulus money they’ll soon receive. Their words showed their true nature and offended me greatly. They made me wonder why I ever showed support for these two people.

If only they’d kept their cruel, selfish thoughts to themselves, we could have remained friends. But maybe it’s best that I found out what kind of people they really are.

Let’s all mitigate the coronavirus fallout!

Be patient with each other!

Put yourself in the other person shoes in every interaction!

Think before you speak! Always say the kindest words possible to everyone, including those in your home!

Help as many people as you can every day!

Support others before they develop these problems!

The aftermath of trauma doesn’t have to be more painful–it is the direct consequence of how we interacted during the event. We can work together now and make our post-coronavirus future as beautiful as possible.

Please do your part every day to enable your country to return to health!
