The National Dance

The New National Dance!

Have you seen the new US national dance?

The YMCA is a United States Symbol. This national organization has helped millions of kids to grow up healthy. It supports communities and neighbors. When I was a child, my family was low income. The local Y gave us a free membership so I could swim, attend summer camp, and eat healthy meals in the summer time. The staff treated me just like the kids whose parents could afford to pay for these programs.

The YMCA symbolizes hope, the most important aspect of being a US citizen. In this country, anyone can grow up healthy and become a productive adult, regardless of their family’s income. There are many programs to help every child succeed, if he or she chooses to make good choices.

In 1978, The Village People released a song about the YMCA and what a child can find there. At recent ‘peaceful protests’, President Trump has danced to this song on stage before the American people.

Like the Macarena, this new national dance can be done by anyone, regardless of how coordinated or uncoordinated he or she is.

Here is all you need to know to do it…

  • Bend your arms at your elbows, and move them side to side to the beat of the song.
  • Move your hips a bit if you want.
  • Raise your arms up a bit higher in the air periodically.

This dance is our new national dance, because it’s an equal opportunity activity; almost every American can do it–even those who cannot walk or those who sit in wheelchairs.

We all should perform this dance as often as possible, because it reminds us of the hope that our country symbolizes!

Don’t you think the first job of the President we inaugurate in January

is to execute our new national dance at the inaugural ball?
