Do you face your fears or run away from them?
My husband has been out of town all week. We live in a small mountain town in a house set back from the road and surrounded by trees. And there are no street lights on our street.
Sometimes when I hear a loud noise outside at night and my husband is out of town, I feel afraid and do not want to check it out.
Last night after dark I heard a loud sound that seemed to come from the front of our home. It sounded as something large had been dropped on our porch. Both of our dogs ran toward the front door and barked until I looked out.
But last night I did more than look out. I put our dogs on leashes and walked out with both of them and a flashlight. Then I walked all around our home to verify that everything was okay.
After I did this, I went back in and went to bed. I slept soundly even though I had heard this strange sound—simply because I had faced my fears and made certain everything was okay.
When things happen in your life that cause you to fear, do you face your fears or run away from them?
I hope you face your fears. Facing your fear helps you to be at peace with yourself and the world around you and sleep much better.
Whatever you fear controls you. You give negative things power over you by fearing them.
I hope you face your fears and sleep soundly, too—every night of your life.
