Is it a myth or a fact? How much money will the US government send me? Should I wear glasses or contacts?
When there a crisis, myths abound. The coronavirus is no exception.
Some are described in the photo above, and here are a few more.
Is it necessary to wipe everything I buy before using it?
We don’t do this in our home. Instead, we let the any bacteria and viruses die before using what we purchase. We place everything we bought that requires refrigeration on the top shelf of the fridge and leave it there for up to three days, depending on what type of packaging it has. Also, we put non refrigerated items on a table and leave them there for up to three days, depending on what type of packaging they have.
We only wipe down the things we need to use right away.
What can I consume to kill it?
In some countries, people have tried to drink rubbing alcohol, other forms of the same substance, or hydrogen peroxide to kill the virus in their systems. This doesn’t kill the virus, but can kill the person who consumes it.
To enable your body to fight the virus, you should eat as healthy as possible. Vegetables, especially those that are dark green, are helpful. So are fruits. Sweet foods, junk foods, and foods with little nutritional value don’t help your immune system.
Should I wear contacts?
No. People who wear contacts touch their eyes more often, and this activity spreads the coronavirus.
Should I believe what I read on Social Media?
Several long-time Facebook friends have sent me a video through messenger that states that the people who have died from coronavirus have one thing in common: they took Advil or Motrin for the aches and pains that the disease causes. This video is most likely a myth.
Yes, medical communities around the world have issued differing opinions on this topic, but the World Health Organization takes its own view.
“Based on currently available information, WHO (World Health Organization) does not recommend against the use of anti-inflammatory drugs.”
How much will the US Government send me as a result of the recently passed coronavirus stimulus package?
There are facts as well as a myth about this topic.
Single adults with income of less than $75,000 during tax year 2018 or 2019 will receive $1,200 and $500 for each child in the household. If your income was above $75,000 but less than $99,000, you will receive less. Those who earned $99,000 or more will receive zero.
Are you married and your joint income was less than $150,000 in 2018 or 2019, you will receive $2,400. The US government will send couples who made between $160,000 and $190,000 a lesser amount, ranging from $1,900 to $400.
To plan accurately for your spending, you can use CNN’s coronavirus stimulus payment calculator.
President Trump and the White House say that they hope to begin distributing the cash quickly, but it may take weeks to send the majority of payments.
If you don’t need to spend all of your stimulus money to survive, consider saving some. Nothing is free and someone somewhere pays for everything. The primary source of revenue for the US government is taxes paid by American tax payers, and this group includes all who receive stimulus checks .
Yes, this stimulus money is essential to the US economy, but, at this moment, our country’s debt is already very high. To pay off this one-hundred-and-twenty-three trillion dollar amount, every tax payer would have to pay $799,000.
