The headline of today’s newspaper was “Las Vegas Vigil”. This article was about the fact that today is the one year anniversary of the mass shooting that occurred in Las Vegas, Nevada.
One year ago today, a man who had emotional issues killed 58 people who were attending a music concert. Consequently, the pain of the family members who survived this horrible event will never go away. They will always remember their lost loved ones and will not forget how they died.
October 2, 2017 changed the future for many people. Even though it was just one day.
Imagine what would have happened if someone had intercepted the Las Vegas shooter one year ago today? Had someone done this, 58 loved ones would still be here.
But we cannot change the past. As a result, all we can do is move forward and make the best of each moment of our lives and the lives of others.
Imagine what your today can do. Today you could help someone who is down and possibly prevent another tragedy like the one that happened one year ago today.
When you see someone who appears to feel down, do you think about being kind to him or her? If you were to do this, your today could improve the future of that one person and everyone whose lives are touched by him or her.
