When a storm is coming, all other birds seek shelter. The eagle alone avoids the storm by flying above it. So, in the storms of life may your heart be like an eagle’s and soar above.” – Author Unknown

The Richest Person I Know

If you could, would you trade places with this woman, the richest person I know?

Encouragement to raise your children to become the richest people on near a river.

She has a mortgage payment and lives in a small home with her family of four. But having had the chance to spend a bit of time with her, she appears very wealthy to me.

This woman is 30 years old.  A stay-at-home Mom with two beautiful and healthy children ages 1 and 3, she has a good relationship with her husband and all of his family members as well as her own family members.

A few days ago, I walked early in the morning with her and her Mom and observed their relationship. They respect and love each other and enjoy spending time together.  In fact, they can talk about anything comfortably.

Later on the same day, I went to a Bible Study at the young woman’s mom’s home. Before Bible study began, she sat at the kitchen table helping her daughter figure out how to put together a Ravensburger puzzle.  Both she and her daughter were enjoying themselves.  Then, after Bible study, both of her preschoolers were fussing in the kitchen because they wanted to drink from Grandma’s water bottle at the same time.  She patiently gave her three year-old daughter a small cup of water and asked her daughter to share it with her 1 year-old son.  And her kids stopped fussing.

Although I know people who live debt free and have money to spare, this woman is the richest person I know.  Her family loves, supports, and encourages her.  And she enjoys spending time with all of her family members.  There is no discord among them.

Parents, you do not need to be wealthy to raise children who become very wealthy adults.  If you love your children every day of their lives, from the time they are born until the day you die, your children will grow up and become some of the richest people in the world.

Please don’t let your children become poor people with money.
