When a storm is coming, all other birds seek shelter. The eagle alone avoids the storm by flying above it. So, in the storms of life may your heart be like an eagle’s and soar above.” – Author Unknown

Biased Results?

Encouraging you to avoid biased search results on near a river.

Do you get biased search results on the internet?  If you do, read on…

Google, Yahoo, Bing, and DuckDuckGo all scour the web for you to find the information you want.  But you never get the same search results.

Some technology leaders and media spokespersons claim that the search results are biased and that they depend on the political leanings and beliefs of the company leader managing the search engine. Although I am not certain about this, I do know there are ways to avoid seeing biased search results.

A Metacrawler

Webcrawler is a metacrawler for Windows-based systems, meaning that it searches for your information on all the commonly used search engines and presents all of them to you.  I use Webcrawler instead of Google, Yahoo, Bing, DuckDuckGo, or any other one search engine and usually find the information I need on the first page of the search results.

Simul-Search is a metacrawler for Macintosh computers. It simultaneously searches in real-time and loads results even as you type. I use this one on my Apple laptop.

Smart Search

Smart Search and Web Browser are free applications for iOS and Android devices.  It is one of the few applications that combine several methods of searching.

Also, it supports the widest number of search engines, including Google, Yahoo, Bing, YouTube, Google Images, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, Ebay, and Wikipedia.  You can also customize it to search only on certain engines.

If you believe what the media has been saying about search engines lately, you do not have to be concerned about your internet searches.  You can use a different search engine and avoid getting biased search results.
