If you believe you can’t, you won’t. Believe you will, and you will succeed.
Have you ever seen a dog drive a car? I have. My dog Simba has driven my 2007 Santa Fe as the picture above shows. Check out the speedometer in the picture and you will see it indicates the car is moving at 30 miles per hour.
How does little Simba drive a car?
Simba can do this because he does not understand the meaning of the word “can’t”. His favorite word is “can”, as in “I can get a treat any time I want one, I can hide under the bed and not be seen, I can drive Mommy’s car, and I can get some of the steak on the dinner table if I dance on my hind legs and look super cute…”
Like Simba, I do not understand the word “can’t”. When someone tells me I am not capable of doing or can’t do something, I find a way to do it.
Which words do you understand, the words “can” and “will” or the words “can’t” and “you are not capable”?
If the words “can’t” and “you are not capable” are in your vocabulary, you do not aspire to lofty goals. You do not believe you can succeed and overcome life’s challenges. And you often fail at basic things.
But if you understand the words “can” and “will”, you do aspire to reach high goals. Additionally, you do make your dreams come true and you do overcome life’s challenges. And you do succeed in life!
If you happen to believe the words “can’t” and “you are not capable” and want to change your life, you can. All you have to do is change your thoughts because your thoughts determine your beliefs and actions.
Believe like Simba that you can and you will succeed!
