Got a Flat Tire?

Are you unable to move forward in your life? Got a flat tire?

Many years ago, my aunt was babysitting my sister and myself as well as taking care of all of her own children.  We ran around my aunt’s small  house, playing hide and go seek and making too much noise.  It did not take long for us to drive her nuts.

To get a tiny amount of peace, she piled us all into her station wagon and took us for a drive. It was a hot summer day, about 100 degrees, and we took no drinks or snacks. We drove down country dirt roads for about 45 minutes.  Until the station wagon had a flat tire.

My aunt did not know how to change a flat tire and neither did any of us eight kids who were with her.  We were stuck and hot and hungry and thirsty.  Now my aunt had to listen to bunches of complaining in instead of screaming and hollering. After we sat there for what seemed like hours to me, a kind man finally drove past and stopped to help us. After he changed our flat tire, we were able to move on and made it back to my aunt’s home safely.

Have you ever been stuck in your life and unable to move on, like we were in my aunt’s station wagon that day because of a flat tire?  If you have, perhaps you know that a bad attitude is like a flat tire.  When you have one, you can’t go anywhere until you change it.
