Happy Fourth of July!

Encouragement to have a happy Fourth of July on near a river.

Celebrate the Fourth of July by being thankful!

Happy Fourth of July!  What are you thankful for and celebrating today?

I am thankful that I have the freedom to help others and the freedom to access medical care.  I celebrate all of the positives in my life today.

  • Thankful for the freedom to help others and change the world!

Last week, I tested an extra  computer and set it up the way a friend would want it. Then Sunday morning she came and picked it up.  I am thankful for the freedom to help others. I will change the world one person at a time by helping others!

  • Thankful for the freedom to access medical care.

On Sunday, my left foot (recently had amputation surgery) suddenly became painful and red and swollen.  It had not been that way for at least a week.  At 10 pm, my husband drove me to the Emergency Room.  I was not happy about going at the time.  I dreaded what the doctor might tell me.

But it turned out to be just an infection on the skin and I need to take antibiotics and rest until it clears up.  Although I did not want to go to the ER, I am glad I did.  And also glad that I do not need any further surgery.

I have friends in other countries who do not have the freedom to access medical care.  I wish they did but I must accept the things I cannot change.

  • Thankful for the positives in my life!

I am thankful that I have the elements mentioned in the serenity prayer above.  That I accept the things I cannot change, change the things I can, and know the difference between the two.

I am thankful I have the freedom and ability to be a world changer, that I can change the world one person at a time.

I am also thankful to have many friends and a very loving husband. He is a veteran, and I am thankful for his service and the service of every veteran and military service member.  I would not live in a free country without their service.
