Maybe Frosty the snowman did have a magic hat, after all. Recent strange events are making me wonder about this possibility.
Recently I wrote about my “Kiss Me” hat, the hat in the picture. Here is the rest of the story…
My cherished “kiss me” hat was lost, gone forever. We looked everywhere before we reached that conclusion. Turning everything inside out, we looked through my closet more than once. In the same way that we searched my closet, we searched the RV and all of its storage areas. We also asked if anyone had turned it in at the places I had recently visited.
So I started looking for a new hat.
I went to the mall to find another hat. Since Santa Claus was sitting where the information booth had been, I asked his helpers if they knew of a store that might have a “Kiss me” Christmas hat. They did not know of one. but Santa volunteered to find someone to make me a new one. Feeling hopeful, I wrote my phone number down and gave it to him.
Happy because I had been successful that day, I returned to the RV and took the dogs to the dog park here in the campground.
The next day, the hat appeared in my closet. I opened my closet to get something else, and it was sitting right there at the bottom of my closet as though it had been there all along.
But my story does not end there. It gets even stranger.
This morning I awakened at 5:30, dressed and took the dogs out as my husband slept. It was cold outside so I reached in my pocket to get my gloves. They were not there, and I thought this was odd. I always put them in my jacket pocket.
With frozen hands, I returned to the RV and looked for my gloves. I searched my closet and everywhere else in the RV. My husband was awake and he helped me search for my gloves.
When my husband jokingly said, “Your gloves are where your Kiss me hat went!”, a light turned on in my brain. One more time, looked in the drawer where my “kiss me” hat now lives, and I saw my gloves on top of my hat.
Whenever I lose something, I will simply find my “Kiss me” hat. Whatever I lose just might be with the hat that I bought at a thrift store for twenty-five cents.
Should I visit Santa today to tell him this strange but true story?
