Thank you, imperfect world! I am so grateful to be a part of you…
Thank you, world!
No, you are not a perfect world, but no one ever promised me that the world around me or my life would be perfect.
Yes, the politicians get on my nerves, the taxes we pay are annoying, and I spend too much time dealing with problems. After growing up in a dysfunctional home as a child many years ago, I still feel that my Mother does not love me. And every time I turn on the news to find out what is going on in the world around me, most of what I hear is bad news.
But still, I am thankful to be alive and part of you.
Why am I so thankful? I am thankful for many things.
- Having a roof over my head.
- Being able to drive an insured car.
- Simply being able to walk.
- Having utilities for our home.
- The food in my kitchen.
- My music teacher.
- Our two dogs.
- Having books to read.
- Health insurance, having a good doctor, and my health.
- Having warm clothes to wear in the winter and cooler clothes for the warmer months.
- My career as a writer.
- Being a part of a supportive community.
- Most importantly, people who love me. My family and friends.
Reader, do you have a roof over your head? Heat, electricity, and water in your home? Food on your table? Do you have activities to do each day? Do you enjoy doing anything at all? If you answered yes to these questions, maybe you can celebrate Thanksgiving along with me and help someone who may be less fortunate than yourself.
Please join me and say “Thank you, imperfect world”.
