Make Good Things Inevitable

Encouragement to create the inevitable in life on near a river.

Tonight here in the North Country we got the inevitable–our first frost warning for the fall season. 

The weather here tonight is forecast to get down to freezing.  So the inevitable is happening—our warm summer weather is changing into colder fall weather.

To prepare for this event, we covered the plants in our garden with tarps. My husband and I gathered all of the tarps we had and carefully positioned them over all of the plants in the garden.  Then we placed bricks and wood blocks on the corners and edges of the tarps to keep the wind from blowing them off of the plants.

Weather changes are not the only things in life that are inevitable.  Each one of us gets older every single day, health issues and other problems crop up, and others around us sometimes drag us down.

Yes, the negatives in life are inevitable, but good things can be the same way.

How can you make good things inevitable in your life?

Create a gratitude mindset, the mindset of being thankful for everything in your life that is the least bit positive.

Your mindset is critical to your ability to overcome your problems. Having a gratitude mindset enables you to prepare for any negatives and also makes positives imminent.

How can you create a gratitude mindset?

  • When you wake up every day, think first about what you are grateful for.
  • Tell whoever you are with at the end of the day the three things you are most grateful for.
  • Constantly think about what you are most grateful for every hour of every day.
  • Write a gratitude journal. Every night, write the things you are grateful for, proud of, or excited about.
  • Acknowledge what you have done each day, week, month, and year in your gratitude journal. Instead of comparing yourself to others, give yourself credit for everything—big and small—that you have accomplished.
  • Thank the others who inspire, help, and support you.
