When a storm is coming, all other birds seek shelter. The eagle alone avoids the storm by flying above it. So, in the storms of life may your heart be like an eagle’s and soar above.” – Author Unknown

Merry Christmas, Everyone!

Encouraging you to have a Merry Christmas on www.bobbiejrae.com/nearariver.

I sincerely hope that everyone has a Merry Christmas!

Now I know I will not have everything I want for Christmas, but I am thankful for what I have anyway.  My Christmas will be a Merry Christmas regardless!

I only want two things for Christmas, but so far I am not getting either.

First, I was hoping that my surgeon could do my amputation surgery before Christmas.  If he could have done that, I would have been out of pain sooner.  But he cannot do the surgery until January 19 so I must live with the pain until sometime in February.  However, I am still thankful that I have health insurance and a good surgeon and will get the help I need in less than a month.

Second, I was hoping that my Grandma’s message would spread much farther for Christmas, that the page views of www.bobbiejrae.com/nearariver would increase greatly.  So far the website’s statistics indicate it still needs to be spread farther, but still I am thankful for the distance her message has spread.

What do you want for Christmas?  If you do not get what you want for Christmas, be thankful for what you do have.  Even if you only received practical gifts this year, be thankful for them! Or if you need your car repaired and cannot afford to repair it, be thankful you have a car to repair! Keep your heart filled with love and desire to help others, and you will be happy even if you do not get your Christmas wish!

By the way, if you were hoping for a “white Christmas”, we are expecting a foot of snow on Christmas day and we already have a foot of snow on the ground.  So if you want a “white Christmas”, come to the North Country!  I am a very sharing person and would love to share our snow with you!  (Is anyone up for a snow ball fight?)

May you soar like an eagle above the storms in your life on Christmas and every other day of your life.  Merry Christmas!  Count your blessings not your problems!

Thanks B. J. for this most encouraging post. So many times we fail to remember and be thankful for what we do have. Pray your pain will ease and the time will go by quickly until you have your surgery. I think I will pass on the invite for a White Christmas, Ha! Blessings to you and your husband for a very Merry Christmas.
