More is sometimes better, sometimes not!
Do you always want more? Or are you content with what you have?
Sometimes more is better, and sometimes it simply isn’t.
In our culture, most people are overwhelmed by too much stress, too much stuff, too much negativity, and too many unhealthy temptations. These are things we do not need more of, but there are some areas of our lives in which more is always better.
Passion
Passion drives you to pursue your most noble choices and inspires you to give your best gifts. Surely passion can turn into an obsession when you do not properly channel it. However, in most cases, it is an energizer and a motivator.
Passion is also a great clarifier. When too many choices surround you, your personal passions help you to figure out your best options.
Respect
We live in a world of drive-through personal interactions and throw-away conveniences. And we don’t always feel compelled to show adequate respect for the relationships and resources that are worthy of our consideration.
Particularly when stressed, you might be tempted to think, “That person does not matter to me. I will probably never see him again.” Or, “It does not matter if I leave my trash by the road side because someone will clean it up”. However, these thoughts show that you need to demonstrate more respect.
Jared Diamond wrote the book Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed. In his book, he offers numerous examples of cultures that fell into states of decline or total destruction—just because they failed to respect the relationships and resources their societies depended on.
We can avoid the downfall of our society by avoiding the mistakes that Jared Diamond wrote about. We need to have more respect for our planet and for each other.
Gratitude
Gratitude is a natural outgrowth of respect. It grows and accumulates the more you spread it around. And the more you give it, the more appreciative you feel.
I have written about gratitude several times on this blog. So I will just say this about gratitude: You are all blessed to be alive, blessed to have choices, and blessed to have opportunities to serve others.

The negative feeling of needing more (time, energy, money, affection, or support) can sneak in when you are not looking. When this little nasty feeling tries to sneak into your life, I urge to you consider turning it around with a healthy dose of more—more passion, respect, or gratitude. You will improve your outlook on life and also improve your mental and physical health by doing this.
You can make the world around you better by spreading the things the world needs–passion, respect, and gratitude!
