When a storm is coming, all other birds seek shelter. The eagle alone avoids the storm by flying above it. So, in the storms of life may your heart be like an eagle’s and soar above.” – Author Unknown

Have Patience and Be Successful!

Encouraging you to understand why patience is important on near a river.

Patience is one attribute of a successful person.

Successful people have something in common–patience.

We are still waiting for tires we ordered a few weeks ago.  This situation has allowed me  to practice self-control.

I continually remind myself that I want to be  successful.  I remind myself of the benefits of patience.

  • Reduced stress levels.

Patience reduces your stress level.  A reduced stress level makes you healthier and happier and enables you to deal with situations better.

Successful people must constantly reduce their stress levels.

  • Better decision-making.

Patience allows you to consider a situation and weigh pros and cons. It improves decision-making ability.

Successful people must have good decision-making abilities.

  • Healthier relationships.

Patience results in increased empathy and compassion. You are more empathetic and compassionate with others when you are patient. Patient people also take time to process events and find ways to overcome obstacles.  This improves your relationships with everyone around you.

Successful people must have healthy relationships with the people around them.

  • Accomplishing goals.

Anything worthwhile takes time and taking time requires self-control. Patience enables a person to achieve goals.

Successful people accomplish their goals.

Our tires should have arrived today, but today tire store manager John told us our tires did not come in.  They “mysteriously disappeared” on their way here.

I was not feeling well when John called. Not feeling well when John called could have caused me to forget the benefits of self-control. But I did not allow myself to become upset.  My husband and I remained calm. We came up with one strategy that might get us the tires we need in four days.  I feel proud that I did not lose self-control today.

Teach your loved ones self-control.  Be a mindful person. Role model patience.  Tell your loved ones what you are doing and why. Remember that your children copy your actions, not your words.

May you soar like an eagle over life’s storms and always have self-control and success.
