When a storm is coming, all other birds seek shelter. The eagle alone avoids the storm by flying above it. So, in the storms of life may your heart be like an eagle’s and soar above.” – Author Unknown

I WANT IT NOW!

If you want things now but are not getting them, this post is for you!

Encouraging you to be patient now on near a river.

When I was a small child, I frequently asked questions.  To my questions that began with the word “When”, my Grandma would usually reply, “In God’s time, sweetie”.  Once I asked her what “In God’s time” meant, and she replied that means several things.

First, God has planned a vision for each one of us.  What he has planned might not happen right away or in ways we understand, though.  However, He is preparing our hearts so that one day we will understand what He is doing for us as He works in our lives.

Second, each one of us must wait for God to do things in His time. We humans are impatient and want everything right now, but we must wait for God to do what He has planned for us.  He is never late and always finishes what he starts.  Although it may seem He is slow to act, he is not slow to act.  Instead, he is doing things at the right time, when they need to be done.

While waiting for God to act on our behalf, we should not be anxious but have faith in our hearts.  Having faith in our hearts will give us peace and releases us from anxiety and feelings of despair.

When “God’s time” finally arrives, we will know what He has planned for our lives and what he has done for us.  He will lead us to participate in his plan for our lives.

There have been many times I wanted God to answer me now and thought God had abandoned me.  When I was married to a very abusive monster and could not find a way out of the relationship, I prayed constantly.  I thought for sure He had forgotten about insignificant me and did not care to help me.  But He did, in His time.  My heart was definitely ready to receive His blessings when they came to me, so maybe it took a long time to prepare my heart to appreciate what He would do for me.

If you are waiting for something to happen in your life, be patient.
