When a storm is coming, all other birds seek shelter. The eagle alone avoids the storm by flying above it. So, in the storms of life may your heart be like an eagle’s and soar above.” – Author Unknown

When  You Should Let Go…

Encouraging you to let go on near a river.

Sometimes you simply have to let go of a relationship!

Do not break your own heart by trying to fix a relationship that is clearly not meant to work.

You cannot force someone to like you or to be loyal.  Nor can you turn someone into the person you need them to be.  Sometimes the person you want most is the person you are best without.

Some things are simply not meant to stay.

Remember that you cannot get the relationship you need from someone who is not ready to give it to you.

Even though you might not understand why this is happening right now, your future will always help you understand why things did not work out.

You should never  put your happiness on hold for someone who isn’t holding on to you. Some chapters of your life  just have to close without the satisfaction of closure.

During the past year, I had this situation in my life.  Someone  I thought was my friend just suddenly turned away from me.  I went home and spoke with my husband about the matter.  Then my counselor.  Both my husband and counselor agreed that perhaps the problem lies within the other person, not in me.  They both suggested I simply walk away but leave the door open to any friendship in the future. The person I thought was a friend has not yet walked back through the door I left open and all I can do is pray for her and send kind and loving thoughts her way.  In the meantime, I am not allowing this issue affect my life.  I am simply moving on by focusing on other things in my life that are satisfying. I am not letting her attitude take the wind out of my sails or the smile off my face!

Trying to hold on to a relationship with someone who does not want it only makes you more anxious and depressed.  Always remember that your own mental health should always be your primary concern.

Let go of what you need to let go of!
