Walk the walk instead of talking the talk.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Mahatma Ghandi described this problem best when he said \u201cI don\u2019t reject your Christ.\u00a0 I love your Christ. It\u2019s just that so many of you Christians are so unlike your Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n

What is the problem?\u00a0 Christians talk the talk but do not walk the walk.<\/p>\n

Here are two examples of this.<\/p>\n

First, my husband loaned someone money about 8 years ago.\u00a0 The man, happy to get the money he needed to flip a house, promised to begin to pay my husband back within 12 months and pay him back fully at the rate of $1,000 per month.\u00a0 Well, he did not keep his promises.\u00a0 And every time he came over to our home to chat about this loan (at our invitation, of course), he would immediately begin to tell us all about his family\u2019s activities at church.\u00a0 Then he would proceed to tell us what we wanted to hear about his repayment of the loan instead of the truth.\u00a0 Of course, he still has not repaid the money in full after eight years.<\/p>\n

Second, a friend\u2019s family claims to be Christian but does not act Christian.\u00a0 My friend says that she never felt loved as a child and still does not feel her family loves her.\u00a0 She has been trying desperately to connect with her family.\u00a0 Although the woman has never threatened her family in any way, her communications both by phone and mail have been cut off and her Mother does not use a computer any longer. My friend is a Christian.\u00a0 She has always helped others every chance she could and tried to show others God\u2019s love every day of her life.\u00a0 But her \u201cChristian\u201d family rejects her.<\/p>\n

Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Perhaps Christians should show God they love Him by acting like a Christian should act. Especially if they want all things to work out for good in their own lives. Christians must remember that love is not a passive verb but an action verb instead<\/a>.\u00a0 You show your love through your actions not your words.<\/p>\n

If you say you are a \u201cChristian\u201d, please act like one, too.\u00a0 If you talk the talk without walking the walk, you are showing others a negative example for Christian behavior.\u00a0 And they may never follow the Lord if they continue to observe Christians like yourself.<\/p>\n

Please represent God well and walk the walk instead of talking the talk!<\/p>\n
