Even without a college education, you can promote yourself into success and earn the money you need to earn.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Years ago, my husband started working at a Ford Dealership called Rice and Holman as a part-time evening cashier.<\/p>\n

He had no college education and had to start somewhere.<\/p>\n

The parts manager offered some advice.\u00a0 \u201cIf you don\u2019t have time to do something right the first time, how will you find time to do it right the second time?\u201d<\/p>\n

My husband took this advice to heart. His boss noticed his hard work and soon promoted him to a salesman.<\/p>\n

Again, as a salesman, he continued to do whatever he needed to do to obtain the expected result.\u00a0 And he became the sales manager.<\/p>\n

His district manager noticed the quality of his work and gave him his own dealership.\u00a0 My husband had worked his way from part-time evening cashier to manager of a Rice and Holman dealership in less than ten years.<\/p>\n

In the 1980s, at a party one night, he met John, a computer programmer who needed some part-time help.\u00a0 Fascinated with computer programming, my husband offered to help him.\u00a0 At first, he did lower-level tasks for John.\u00a0 While doing these simple functions, he watched and studied what John did.<\/p>\n

One day, John ran into a problem on a project he was doing for a client, and my husband went home and wrote a program to solve the problem.\u00a0 Impressed with my husband\u2019s solution, John gave my husband higher-level programming tasks to complete.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, cancer claimed John’s life. Naturally, John’s clients became my husband\u2019s clients.<\/p>\n

Even without a college degree, my husband has been more successful than many people with higher education.<\/p>\n
