By the time her doctors diagnosed her condition, she was \u201ca bowl of Jell-O in a wheelchair\u201d.\u00a0 They told her she only had 6 months to live.\u00a0 She raged about the unfairness of her condition for a few days until she had a different thought.\u00a0 \u201cSince I am dying anyway, I will use the short time I have left to learn how to love myself unconditionally\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Evy detested her body. Childhood polio had withered her limbs and she was also overweight,\u00a0\u00a0 Every day she struggled to think of anything positive about her body.<\/p>\n<p>Three times a day, Evy rolled her wheelchair to her mirror and sat naked.\u00a0 She sat there each time until she found something new positive to like about her body.\u00a0 Whatever it took, she WOULD learn to like her own body and made up her mind to get rid of all of her negative thoughts and feelings.<\/p>\n<p>One day she finally crossed a threshold.\u00a0 She started to feel love and compassion for herself.\u00a0 Also, she began to believe her body was a miracle of creation and that she herself was a blessed person who could enjoy the feeling of joy.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\">After Evy changed her thoughts,<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\">her health changed and<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\">SHE BECAME THE FIRST AND ONLY PERSON<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\">TO COMPLETELY RECOVER FROM LOU GEHRIG\u2019S DISEASE.<\/h4>\n<p>So if you make only one resolution for the New Year, please resolve to love yourself unconditionally.
