When she sang her song \u201cTry\u201d on America\u2019s Got Talent, Simon gave her the Golden Buzzer.<\/p>\n<p>Today I saw an elderly woman completing a race by walking with a cane. She would not give up and had to keep trying. Even though she was the last one to finish the race, she did not give up.\u00a0 She kept trying.<\/p>\n<p>Like Mandy Harvey and the elderly woman in the race, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bobbiejrae.com\/nearariver\/?s=persist\">I never give up<\/a>.\u00a0 I always keep trying.\u00a0 I simply do not give up.<\/p>\n<p>Mandy Harvey and I, as well as other persistent people, have <a href=\"https:\/\/theteenmentor.com\/2019\/02\/18\/7-habits-of-highly-persistent-people-by-harvey-deutschendorf\/\">some traits in common<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4>Find a goal that motivates.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Persistent people always have a goal that motivates us to keep trying until we succeed.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4>A burning desire.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We also have a burning desire to accomplish a goal.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4>Inner confidence.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are not swayed by others\u2019 opinions.\u00a0 We know what we want to accomplish and will not give up until we succeed.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4>Self-discipline.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We persistent people have the discipline to keep working in spite of adversity because we believe our efforts today will pay off in the long run.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4>Ability to adapt.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When one plan is not working, we simply adapt our plan instead of giving up.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4>Commit to life-long learning and keep trying.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are committed to learning something new every day of our lives.\u00a0 Learning something new every day of our lives gives us more knowledge that we use to adapt our plans to succeed.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4>Role models.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We have role models.\u00a0 Mine is my Grandma.\u00a0 I loved that woman so much and I keep trying to make her proud of me.\u00a0 Mandy Harvey\u2019s role model for relearning to sing was her own prior singing ability.
