{"id":3038,"date":"2017-08-22T14:32:37","date_gmt":"2017-08-22T19:32:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nearariver.com\/?p=3038"},"modified":"2026-09-10T11:23:02","modified_gmt":"2026-09-10T15:23:02","slug":"leaf-peeping-near-river-bj-rae-eagle-encouraging-words","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bobbiejrae.com\/nearariver\/leaf-peeping-near-river-bj-rae-eagle-encouraging-words\/","title":{"rendered":"Enjoy Life!\u00a0 Go Leaf Peeping!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><em>Take a mental health break from your daily grind and go leaf peeping!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Do you enjoy nature?\u00a0 Do you need a break from your daily grind?\u00a0 If so, read on!<\/p>\n<p>I love to leaf peep, to drive and look at the leaves changing colors in the New England states.\u00a0 I recently moved to one of the New England states and have been watching the leaves.\u00a0 Soon it will be time to leaf peep!\u00a0 Mid-October is the expected peak time to view nature\u2019s fall beauty this year throughout most of New England.<\/p>\n<p>Where can you go to leaf peep in New England?\u00a0 Here are some places I highly recommend.<\/p>\n<h4>Back roads through Maine to New Hampshire<\/h4>\n<p>Just pick any town in Maine and any town in NH.\u00a0 Then map out a drive.<\/p>\n<p>Route 88 from Falmouth to Yarmough is great.<\/p>\n<p>Route 35 along the Eastern shore of Long Lake from Naples to Harrison is beautiful too.\u00a0 Just stay on Route 35 north of Harrison all the way to the Bethel area.<\/p>\n<p>You can also drive west on Route 25 out of Portland and see great leaf displays through Cornish and Standish.<\/p>\n<p>The Mt. Washington Valley, next to Gorham, NH, is a great place also.\u00a0 Take US 2 from Gorham to Shelburne and then on to Bethel, Maine to see great foliage!<\/p>\n<h4>Western Maine<\/h4>\n<p>In Western Maine, take Route 17 in Western Maine.
