Use a pencil eraser to care for certain issues in your home, stress-free!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

It is Labor Day weekend and kids are going back to school.\u00a0 This prompted me to think of things I have done with pencil erasers other than their obvious use.<\/p>\n

You might find some of these uses helpful around your home!<\/p>\n

Testing a plant’s moisture level!<\/h4>\n

If you are unsure if your plant needs water, dip a pencil eraser into the soil and withdraw it.\u00a0 If soil sticks to the eraser, there is enough moisture and you do not need to water the plant.\u00a0 But if no soil sticks to the eraser, you do need to water your plant!<\/p>\n

Clean jewelry!<\/h4>\n

An eraser can be used to clean jewelry!\u00a0 Just rub the eraser over the dull spots.\u00a0 The rubber absorbs the oil and removes the smudges, leaving your jewelry looking new again!<\/p>\n

Clean your keyboard!<\/h4>\n

I spend a great deal of time typing on my keyboard, and its gets very dirty.\u00a0 I just unplug the keyboard and rub a pencil eraser on and between the keys.\u00a0 Then I shake or blow out the eraser shavings.<\/p>\n

Remove ink spots from suede<\/h4>\n

Your child sits on the family\u2019s suede couch to do homework and falls asleep.\u00a0 His pen marks the suede sofa.<\/p>\n

Do not worry!\u00a0 This stain is not permanent!\u00a0 Just erase the mark on the suede with an eraser.<\/p>\n

You can use this trick to remove ink stains on suede purses and shoes, too.<\/p>\n

Repair a scratched screen<\/h4>\n

Kids are hard on their belongings, including electronics.\u00a0 You probably have heard your child saying excitedly, \u201cMom, my screen is scratched!\u201d more than once.<\/p>\n

You can fix this most of the time.\u00a0 If the scratch is small, lightly rub a clean eraser over the scratched area, moving it in the direction of the scratch.\u00a0 The rubber smooths the sharp edges and the area around the scratch.\u00a0 It makes the scratch disappear and the screen appears more readable.<\/p>\n
