Did you know there are two kinds of family, family of heart and family of blood?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Sometimes a family member is just not kind to you.\u00a0 When this happens, you wonder what you have done wrong and cannot help but think that family members should love each other.<\/p>\n

But the truth is that there are two kinds of family: \u00a0family of blood and family of heart.<\/p>\n

Family of blood is the people to whom you are related by birth.\u00a0 You did not choose them and they did not choose you.\u00a0 Sometimes they are loving toward you and sometimes not.<\/p>\n

The other kind of family, family of heart, is the best kind of family. This kind of family loves you unconditionally for who you are.\u00a0 Some of your \u201cfamily of heart\u201d members may also be family of blood, but sometimes not.<\/p>\n

My family of heart is the family that truly loves me.<\/p>\n

My heart family members and I chose each other. We accept and love each other for who we are, flaws and all. When I need someone to talk to about a problem, they are there for me.\u00a0 They never abandon me when I am struggling.\u00a0 And they always give great hugs.\u00a0 My friend Wendy Williams is a member of my heart family.<\/p>\n

If the family that accepts you is not your blood family but your heart family, do not despair.\u00a0 You are not alone.\u00a0 There are many others like you out there.<\/p>\n

And if the only family that treats you lovingly is your heart family, be grateful for the loving family that you have.\u00a0 Please do not dwell on how beautifully some other people get along with their blood family, because that will not help you.<\/p>\n

Just be grateful that you have a loving family.<\/p>\n
