When a storm is coming, all other birds seek shelter. The eagle alone avoids the storm by flying above it. So, in the storms of life may your heart be like an eagle’s and soar above.” – Author Unknown

Laws for Facebook

Encouragement to be aware of Murphy's laws for Facebook on near a river.

Have you heard about Murphy’s Laws for Facebook?

And, as you may have discovered, there are many Facebook laws to follow.

Here are some of Murphy’s Laws for Facebook.

  • Welcome to Facebook! This is the place where relationships are perfect and enemies are the ones who visit your profile the most. Here your family and friends block you.  When you write what you think, someone always takes it the wrong way.
  • If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all. And don’t write it on Facebook, either!
  • You are responsible for what you say, but you are not responsible for what others understand.
  • Don’t let your friends’ compliments go to your head–and don’t let their criticism go to your heart either.
  • Never underestimate the power of a decent vocabulary, decent spelling, and decent grammar.
  • Respect and decent writing matter. A great profile picture is a bonus.  Humor is a must!
  • Do you have a backbone and a funny bone? You must have both to survive on Facebook. The funny bone is the more important of the two.
  • The longer you use Facebook, the more likely Facebook is to put you in “Facebook jail” for an infraction that no one ever explains to you.
  • What happens on social media stays on google forever!

I know these are not the only Facebook laws.  Facebook has put me in Facebook jail for breaking the others but never told me what I did wrong.  If I ever find out what the other laws for Facebook are, I will certainly pass them on to you.

On the other hand, if Facebook ever trusts me with its laws, perhaps I should not tell anyone.  Facebook might permanently put me in Facebook jail for revealing its secrets to others!
