Miss someone you love today? I know how you feel…
Do you feel broken-hearted today? Do you miss someone you love?
There is another way to think about this situation instead of crying about it and feeling broken-hearted, though.
I do believe in God and heaven, and I know that my brother and Grandma are looking down on me from heaven, smiling as I accomplish each task. My Grandma would be proud of how hard I worked to clean my home in spite of my foot pain, how much effort I put into planting my garden, and how much effort I put into spreading her message of faith, hope, love, and kindness every day of my life. My brother (who shares my love of animals) smiles down at me from heaven each time I play with or snuggle up with our two small dogs. He looks down on me and laughs every time they tickle me by licking me since he used to tickle me when we were children.
If you understand how I feel right now, missing my loved ones so much today, please just picture your loved ones walking around in heaven. If that does not bring a smile to your face, I do not know what will. Also, try doing things that you know would make them feel proud of you.
Even though I close my eyes and picture my loved ones in heaven many times each day, I still cry sometimes. I’m sure you cry, too. Always remember you are not alone when you miss someone you love on any holiday! When you feel sad, one way to overcome the sadness is to reach out to someone who could use your help. This is the only way I can make any day a happy one for myself. Giving someone else a reason to smile puts a smile on my face, too!
Do your best to soar like an eagle today in spite of your loss.
